Erotas ("Rote") Conger together with his brother, Edwin Jerome Conger, removed from Whitewater, WI to Manchester, Delaware Co., IA about 1860. There they engaged in the banking business and continued for many years. The married and raised their families there. Upon retiring from business, Erotas, removed to Los Angeles, CA about 1905 and died there at 146 Witmer Street.This branch of the family at one time changed the spelling of the name to "Congar" and continued to spell it that way until January 1890 when, by common consent, they changed the spelling back to "Conger" because they were commonly called, "Conjer."
