The father [Theodore Conger] was born in Newark and there grew to maturity and engaged in business. He was given a good education at the grade schools and later at the more advanced educational institutions, and was thus fitted for the obligations of citizenship. He became noted for his upright and reputable conduct and the interest he revealed in the welfare of the community and the advancement of municipal and civic prosperity. He was the founder or originator of the Roseville Riding Academy, in the success of which he took a deep and abiding interest. He passed away on September 17 1909, leaving behind him a splendid fulfilment of life's duties and a reputation of superior renown.
His wife was born in Newark and was there reared and educated. As a child she vastly enjoyed the hours spent at study and play and was a life enthusiast, inspired by the highest ideals and influenced by the obligations of life. She is yet living, at an advanced age, and is much concerned in the progress of social advancement. Both were citizens of high character and repute.
