When we came back to Gunnison, Colorado from California she worked in a store. Then she worked at a big grocery store "City Market" in Delta, Coloraod. After the new bowling alley was built she worked there until 1996 when she could no longer walk. She was in a wheelchair up until her death Dec 8, 2001.

RECOLLECTIONS:
William Roger Cowell, my dad, lived in Nebraska as a small child. He had to quit school to take care of his mother and sister. He went to work for Rio Grande Motorway driving truck. He married my mother. During WWII unable to go in the military he joined the 3 C's and helped build the highway through the Colorado National Monument. We then moved to McCloud, CA, which sets at the base of Mt. Shasta. This was a company owned town where logging and a large sawmill were the main industry. My dad went to work as a lineman. He then studied hard and became a journeyman electrician, Master electrician. We lived there for 12 years. After returning to Colorado, he owned an Electrical Contracting business for several years at Gunnison, Colorado. He returned to Redding, CA were he worked as a building inspector. In 1975, he returned to Colorado and bought a small bowling alley, then in 1978 he built a new one and worked there until 2000. He still putters around there some. My brother now owns it. My dad has always been a rock hound and has always been interested in mining and gold.
