OBITUARY: Bert Walter Conger
Bert Walter Conger, 96, of Payette, [ID] passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Holy Rosary Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.Bert was born Dec. 6, 1905, in Newport, Neb., a son of Alex and Maude Conger. He grew up on the family farm in Nebraska. He moved to Idaho in 1924 and worked as a mechanic and later spraying in the Logan Bowman Orchards. He then started working for the Moss family cannery which later became American Fine Foods. Bert retired after 30 years with the cannery in 1972.
Survivors include his sons, Alex Conger of Eagle and Richard Conger of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Wayne Conger of New Plymouth; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
