RECOLLECTIONS:
According to niece, Minnie Ethel Conger Rees, still residing at Roseville, CA, in 1970, age 86. Thomas, Enos and Mark went to Oregon in 1856. Thomas died in 1858 and was buried in the Sacramento Valley, after which Enos and Mark returned to Centerville. She remembered her Uncle Enos telling how they had gone to Rosevill by train. They camped awhile on the Roseville Dry Creek and then bought horses and wagons and drove to Talent, Oregon. Talent existed before Medford.

Mark and his family returned to Oregon in 1875. Benoni became a prosperous farmer around Blockton and Mt. Ayer, Iowa. John survived the Civil War unharmed and settled near Exline, Iowa; William was lost in the battle of Shiloh; no record of Robinson. Elias tried Kansas for a few years but returned to Iowa; Enos evidently went back to Oregon, for his son, Hemmerly, became a mortician at Medford; Martha went to Kansa in 1880 and had children: Al, Maime and Roxie Crow; Samuel remained in Centerville, Iowa.
