EMIGRATION: About the year 1874, Abel Conger and his younger brother, Albert, and sister, Harriet, went to live on a piece of property which had been purchased from the government by their father. This land was in Brady Township, Saginaw county, Michigan and was a wild wooded country where neighbors were few, but friendly. This farm was owned for many years by various members of the Job Conger family.

Sgt. Oliver N. Conger of Company I, 21st Regt., was buried from the residence of his father, Noel H. Conger, at 136 North Clinton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY. Company I of the 21st Regt. turned out in large numbers, headed by the 21st Regt. Band, and escorted the remains to the cemetery, where they were interred with full military honors.
